Australian songwriter and accomplished storyteller Carus Thompson has today announced the release of his first record in over 5 years “ISLAND”, along with a national tour of Australia to celebrate the album hitting shelves on February 3.

Like an Australian Springsteen or Mellencamp telling engaging and intelligent stories through song is what Thompson does best, and on his eagerly awaited follow up to 2011’s  “Caravan”, the Fremantle based Troubadour digs even deeper into the Australian psyche. Setting his acoustic sights on dissecting a country where refugees, isolation, apathy and Ice have taken over the national conversation, Carus Thompson is making a grand statement about modern Australia, and through a lyrical cast of authentic characters in suburban settings, is telling the stories we rarely hear, but desperately need to.
